Elaine Feeney and Lisa McInerney
Lisa McInerney shot to fame in 2016, following the publication of her debut novel The Glorious Heresies, which won the 2016 Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Desmond Elliot Prize. Her follow up, The Blood Heresies was published last year. Praised as “a wonderfully offbeat voice’’ (The New York Times Book Review), ‘’with talent to burn’’ (The Guardian), Lisa has become one of the most exciting contemporary voices in Irish literature.
Elaine Feeney is a writer and teacher, based in Galway. Her razor sharp poetry has made her a national and international star, having appeared at festivals all over Ireland, Europe and the US. Rise, her third, full poetry collection has been hailed as ‘extraordinary’ (RTÉ Arena) and Fionnuala Flannagan referred to Elaine as ‘’the freshest, most engaging and provocative poet to come out of Ireland in the last decade”. Both writers will read from their work and will be in conversation with writer and broadcaster Sinéad Gleeson.
